Paul Ma, Vice President, Lead Portfolio Strategist - Fidelity Investments

Paul Ma is vice president and lead portfolio strategist for Wealth Advisory & Portfolio Solutions Fidelity Institutional® (FI). Fidelity Institutional is a division of Fidelity Investments that offers investment insights, strategies, and solutions, as well as trading services to a wide range of wealth management firms and institutional investors. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.

In this role, Mr. Ma assists the home office and their advisors with investment program designs to scale their business, help them grow their HNW client business, and provide market update that impacts their portfolios. Also, he is the head of the FMAX Investment Consulting team, as well as serving as the speaker on portfolio construction topics at client’s national conferences and engaging in CIO to CIO and home office consultations.

Prior to joining Fidelity in 2015, Mr. Ma was a portfolio manager managing U.S. equities at SunAmerica, international and global equities at McLean & Partners and BlackRock, and long/short equities at Quad Capital.

Mr. Ma earned his bachelor of arts degree in chemistry from Harvard University and his Master of Technology and policy degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He also holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses and is a CFA® Charterholder.

Melanie Mendiola, Vice President/Director of Investor Education and Guidance - BG Investment Services

Melanie Mendiola was appointed Vice President/Director of Investor Education and Guidance at BG Investment Services. Prior to this role, she was appointed by Governor Lou Leon Guerrero as the Administrator/CEO of the Guam Economic Development Authority, a role in which she served for six years, steering the strategic economic direction of the island through various programs including administering and managing all of the Government of Guam’s municipal debt, tax incentive programs, and government real property management.

Mendiola also worked with the Office of the Governor to direct over $200 million in pandemic aid directed towards small businesses and new business start-ups. In 2003, she graduated from New York University as a double major in Economics and East Asian Studies with a Business Minor. She obtained her Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Guam in 2012, and a Master’s of Science in Financial Planning from Kansas State University in 2017.

In 2013, she received the Financial Planning Association’s Diversity Scholar Award for her research and work in financial planning among minorities. In 2017, she was awarded the Chamber of Commerce’s Guam Young Professional of the Year, and in 2018, she was awarded the Small Business Administration’s Minority Business Champion for her advocacy for local farmers and food-based businesses. She co-founded an agricultural not-for-profit called Farm to Table-Guam in 2012. She also currently sits on the Board of the Guam Girls Scouts and is a member of the Young Men’s League of Guam Ladies Auxiliary. She is the Past Chair of the Guam Young Professionals, a Guam Chamber of Commerce Subcommittee, a former Director on the Board of the Port Authority of Guam, and a current Trustee for the Guam Memorial Hospital.
